Why I’m Blogging Again: A Fresh Start for Homeschooling Walla Walla

Hello, friends! Whether you’re a familiar face in our homeschooling community or you’ve just stumbled upon Homeschooling Walla Walla, I’m so glad you’re here. Today, I’m writing with a mix of excitement and a little bit of vulnerability—because I’m officially returning to blogging, and I can’t wait to reconnect with you.

Where Have I Been?

If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ve probably noticed things have been a bit quiet on the blog. Life, as it tends to do, swept me up in a whirlwind of family, homeschooling, and all the little (and big!) things that come with wearing many hats. Like so many of you, I’ve been balancing the roles of parent, teacher, organizer, and sometimes even referee. Over the past few months, our family has navigated new seasons—some joyful, some challenging, all full of growth.

During this time, I needed to step back from blogging to focus on the essentials: supporting my own kids’ learning, nurturing our Homeschool Insiders community, and making sure the resources on our site stayed helpful and up-to-date. I also wanted to take a breath and reflect on what truly matters to our local homeschooling families.

Lessons from the Pause

Taking a break from blogging wasn’t easy. I missed the creative outlet, the chance to share ideas, and—most of all—the conversations with you. But stepping away gave me a fresh perspective. I was reminded how important it is to give ourselves permission to pause, to rest, and to regroup. Homeschooling is a journey, not a sprint, and sometimes we need to slow down to move forward with intention.

During my time away, I listened to your feedback, watched our community grow, and learned so much from the amazing families who make up Homeschooling Walla Walla. I saw firsthand how powerful it is when we come together to share resources, encourage one another, and celebrate our unique paths.

Why Return Now?

So, why am I coming back to blogging now? The answer is simple: I feel inspired and energized by the needs and dreams of our community. Over the past few months, I’ve received messages from parents looking for fresh ideas, local recommendations, and encouragement. I’ve heard from new homeschoolers who feel overwhelmed and from veterans who are eager to share what’s worked for them.

I believe that blogging is one of the best ways to keep our community connected, informed, and inspired. There’s something special about reading a story, tip, or resource at just the right moment—something that makes you feel seen and supported. My hope is that this blog can be that place for you.

What’s Coming Up on the Blog

As I return to regular blogging, here’s what you can expect:
